Struggling with Short Naps?
Letβs talk about short naps
Recently, I did a question box on Instagram and asked you to submit your sleep questions so that I could answer them on my live Q&A.
Out of hundreds of questions submitted, over 50% were the exact same question: "why can my baby sleep all night but only sleep for 30-45 minutes for naps in their crib?"
Can you relate? ππ»ββοΈ
The good news is, you're not alone if your baby is struggling with short naps! The bad news is, if your baby is under 4 months, this is completely normal.
Why? Two reasons:
Day sleep and night sleep use different parts of the brain. So, your baby can sleep totally independently all night long, but still need assistance for day sleep.
Day sleep does not develop until after four months. So expecting your baby to take long, predictable naps during the day before that point is like expecting them to start running before they can stand up.
Can you feel the relief in your body now knowing your baby's short naps are totally normal? I hope so!
