How to Sleep Train with Multiple Kids
Are you worried about how you can teach your baby how to sleep when you have multiple kids? Wondering how you can practice good naps and establish night sleep when you have places to be with your other kids? Let’s talk about it!
With school starting up again, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about managing a schedule when you have multiple kids.
What if my baby is napping when I have to pick up carpool? What if my baby falls asleep in the car while dropping of my toddler at preschool?
And how can I teach my baby to sleep if I’m constantly interrupting their sleep for other kids’ schedules?
My Answer
It’s simple: Do your best.
I have four kids. I’ve had to juggle a few schedules (okay a lot of schedules!) with tiny babies and yet, they’ve all learned how to sleep 12 hours at night by 3 months!
One option? Put your baby down early if you know you’ll have to wake them up. If you’re trying to keep your baby awake until you get home, hand them a toy or talk to them (or have a sibling talk to them in the backseat!) if they are starting to doze off.
All you can do is your very best. And please know, that interrupted naps or naps on-the-go will not destroy your baby’s sleep. As long as you’re trying, your baby will learn how to sleep! Adjust when and where you need to, and don’t stress about the rest.
